Abstract

Dombey and Son is one of the works of Charles Dickens, a famous novelist in the Victorian period. In the past, most of the studies on this novel are from the perspectives of alienation theory, feminism, imagism, trauma theory, critical realism and spiritual ecology. Under Li Yang's trauma theory, he studies the social factors that cause the tragedy of Dombey's family, but he neglects the impact of parent-child relationship on the psychological growth of children, which is a topic that needs attention in today's society. This paper takes the educational psychology of children as a research perspective to re-interpret and deeply analyze Dombey and Son. This paper discusses the relationship between husband and wife in the family and the disharmony of parent-child relationship will cause great harm to children's psychology, resulting in inferiority, and provides a new analytical perspective for Dombey and Son.
