A Comparative Study of Mind-matter Dualism between Kant and Descartes
Keywords:
Kant; Descartes; Dualism of Mind and Matter.Abstract
Descartes, one of the founders of modern European philosophy, established the basic idea of modern philosophy. He and Kant, a master of modern philosophy, deeply influenced the development of modern Western philosophy. Kant and Descartes reached a consensus on the dualism of mind and matter at the empirical level, that is, the dualism of empirical entity and the monism of transcendental noumenon, but they have their own views on the "knowable" and "unknowable" of transcendental noumenon.
