This paper explores the interaction and fusion between 21st-century cinema and multiculturalism. Cinema, as a multimedia art form, has become a central platform for diverse cultural exchanges in the context of globalization, technological advancements, and international communication. Firstly, cinema plays a pivotal role in globalization by facilitating interactions and understanding among various cultures through its wide-reaching dissemination, serving as a medium for cross-border cultural dissemination. Secondly, the paper examines the portrayal of postmodern culture in cinema. 21st-century cinema often employs intricate narrative structures and themes that reflect the influence of postmodernist thought. Thirdly, the evolution of youth culture, particularly the emergence of youth cinema, is studied. The analysis delves into the narrative strategies employed by youth cinema in the new century and how they reflect changing cultural and societal perspectives among the younger generation. Finally, the paper discusses the fusion of high and popular culture within mass culture, investigating how 21st-century cinema finds a balance between sophistication and accessibility, and how it blends high and low art within the medium of film. In conclusion, cinema, as a unique art form, provides a platform for the convergence of high and low art, blending tradition and innovation, as well as sophistication and accessibility. This fusion not only gives rise to numerous classic cinematic works but also offers endless enjoyment and insights to audiences. Cinema plays a significant role in the multicultural era of the new century, serving as not just a means of entertainment but also a powerful tool for cultural, artistic, and intellectual exchange.
